## At a glance

- **Issued by:** Directorate General of Industry, MoCIIP
- **Legal basis:** Ministerial Decision No. 62/2023
- **Who can apply:** Producers with a valid industrial, craft, agricultural or fisheries licence
- **Local content:** At least 20% of the product's value
- **Ministry review:** 15 working days from a complete file
- **Validity:** 3 years, renewable
- **Government fee:** Free
- **Penalty for unlicensed use:** Up to OMR 500, suspension or revocation

The **Made in Oman** logo is the official *National Product Identity* of the Sultanate of Oman. Manufacturers that hold the licence can print it on their products and packaging, gain priority in government purchases and be listed in the Ministry's catalogue of Omani products. The licence is issued by the **Directorate General of Industry** at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) under **Ministerial Decision No. 62/2023**.

## Who can apply?

You can apply if your establishment:

- holds a valid **industrial licence** (craft, agricultural and fisheries production licences are also accepted)
- actually **produces inside Oman**
- wants to use the logo on its own national products

If your factory is in an industrial estate or free zone, you also need the estate's own operating licence. Importers that only resell finished goods are not eligible.

## Main requirements

1. **Registered company** with a valid C.R. and production activity.
2. **Production licence** (industrial, craft, agricultural or fisheries).
3. **At least 20% local content** for each product, calculated as *(ex-factory price − value of non-Omani materials) ÷ ex-factory price × 100*.
4. **Environmental permit**, if your activity affects the environment.
5. **Registered brand** (strongly recommended, because Oman is a first-to-file country).

## Documents

The application needs the form for your last fiscal year, a raw-materials page for each product, product photos, a product list with HS codes and the employee list approved by the Ministry of Labour. We also ask for your C.R., licences, cost data and supplier invoices. The PDF guide has the full checklist.

## Steps and timeline

1. Eligibility review and document collection
2. Feasibility study and local content calculation
3. Ministry of Labour workforce list
4. Online application on the Made in Oman platform
5. Ministry review: a decision within **15 working days** of a complete file
6. Licence issued for **3 years**, renewable

A typical file takes about **4 to 8 weeks** end to end, not counting any environmental approval.

## Costs

Submitting the application to the government is **free**. A complete file still has related costs: the Ministry of Labour list, PRO (mandoob) services, a feasibility study, documentation and our professional fee. The PDF guide gives an itemised estimate, plus an indicative budget for environmental approval if your activity needs it.

## Using the logo correctly

The logo may only be used **after** the licence is issued, and only on the products named in it. Using it without a licence can lead to a warning, a fine of up to OMR 500, suspension for up to one year or revocation. If an application is refused, a new one can only be filed after a year, so it pays to submit a complete file the first time.

Oman Register prepares and follows up the whole file for you, from the eligibility review to the issued licence.

## FAQ

**Who can get the Made in Oman logo?**

Any establishment that produces in Oman and holds a valid industrial, craft, agricultural or fisheries licence. Traders who only import and resell finished goods do not qualify.

**Is there a government fee for the Made in Oman license?**

No. The application to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion is free. Related costs, such as the Ministry of Labour workforce list, a feasibility study and professional fees, are listed in our PDF guide.

**How long is the Made in Oman license valid?**

Three years from the date of issue, and it can be renewed. It covers only the products named in the licence.

**Do I need to register my brand first?**

It is not a condition of Ministerial Decision 62/2023, but we strongly recommend it. Oman is a first-to-file country, so register your trademark before the logo goes on your packaging.

**Do I need an environmental permit?**

Only if your activity affects the environment. In that case the factory must hold a valid permit from the Environment Authority, which depends on the activity category.
