Frequently asked questions

Can a foreigner own 100% of a company in Oman?

Yes. Under the Foreign Capital Investment Law (Royal Decree 50/2019) foreign investors can own 100% of a company in most activities, except those on the restricted list reserved for Omanis.

How long does company registration in Oman take?

A straightforward mainland LLC or SPC can be registered online in a few days once documents are ready; licences, bank account and visas usually take a few more weeks.

Do I get residency when I register a company?

A commercial registration does not grant residency by itself, but it allows you to apply for an investor residence card. Investments of OMR 200,000 or more can qualify for the 10-year Golden Visa.

Should I choose a free zone or the mainland?

Free zones suit manufacturing, logistics and re-export with tax and customs incentives; the mainland suits trading and services sold inside Oman. We compare both for your activity.
